If you have applied to study in Sweden for the Autumn 2026
intake, you must act immediately. Halmstad University has opened its
scholarship window, but it is closing in just hours!
The Halmstad University Scholarship is a merit-based
tuition fee waiver designed for high-performing international students from
outside the EU/EEA. Unlike the Swedish Institute scholarship which covers
everything, this is a Tuition Fee Waiver that significantly reduces the
cost of your Master's degree.
Scholarship Details & Financial Coverage
- Value:
The scholarship covers 25% or 50% of the tuition fee.
- How
it works: The amount is deducted directly from your tuition invoice.
- Duration:
Initially granted for one semester, but automatically extended for
the full duration of your Master's programme (2 or 4 semesters) provided
you pass your exams and maintain satisfactory study results (75% of
credits).
- Exclusions:
This scholarship does not cover living costs or family grants. You
must still prove you have the funds for your living expenses to the
Swedish Migration Agency.
Who Can Apply? (Strict Eligibility)
You can only apply if you meet ALL of the following
conditions:
- Fee-Paying
Student: You are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and
Switzerland.
- First
Priority: You must have ranked a Halmstad University Master's
programme as your First Choice (Priority 1) on
UniversityAdmissions.se.
- Admissions
Status: You must have submitted your admission application and paid
the application fee by the January deadline.
- Academic
Merit: The selection is based entirely on your grades from your
previous degree. Work experience and financial status are not
considered.
How to Apply (The "Invisible" Link)
There is no public "Apply Now" button on the
website for everyone. The process is exclusive:
- Check
Your Email: Halmstad University sends a unique, personal link to the
online scholarship application form via email to eligible students
who ranked them as #1.
- Search
Your Inbox: Search for emails from "Halmstad University" or
"Admissions". Check your Spam/Junk folder immediately.
- Complete
the Form: Click the link and fill in the required details, including
your University Admissions Application Number.
- Submit
Before Deadline: You must submit this form by February 25, 2026.
Important Dates (Verified)
- Application
Period: February 9 – February 25, 2026.
- Notification
of Results: You will be notified by email in March/April 2026
(after the first Notification of Selection Results).
- Semester
Starts: August/September 2026.
