If you applied to Malmö University for the Autumn
2026 intake, you are currently waiting for your admission results. But you
should also be preparing for something else: The Malmö University Master's
Scholarship.
This is a prestigious, merit-based scholarship that covers
the full tuition fee (100%) for international students. However, you
cannot just go to the website and apply. The process is exclusive and "by
invitation only."
Here is exactly how it works and what you need to prepare before
the invitation arrives.
Scholarship Details & Financial Value
The Malmö University Master's Scholarship is designed to
attract top global talent to Sweden.
- Coverage:
It covers the entire tuition fee (100%).
- Duration:
It is awarded for the first year and is renewable for the second
year (for 2-year Master’s programs), provided you successfully complete
your first year (passing at least 45 credits).
- What
is NOT covered: This is strictly a tuition waiver. It does not cover
living expenses, accommodation, or travel costs. You must still prove to
the Swedish Migration Agency that you have the funds (~10,314 SEK/month)
to support your living costs.
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
You will only be considered for this scholarship if you meet
ALL of the following conditions:
- Citizen
of a Non-EU/EEA Country: You must be required to pay tuition fees in
Sweden.
- First
Priority: You must have ranked a Master’s program at Malmö University
as your first priority in your application on
UniversityAdmissions.se.
- Admitted:
You must actually receive an offer of admission (Notification of
Selection Results) on March 26, 2026.
How the "Invitation" Process Works
Unlike other scholarships where you search for a link, this
scholarship finds you.
- Wait
for Admission Results: On March 26, 2026, check your results on
UniversityAdmissions.se.
- Check
Your Email: Shortly after the admission results are published,
admitted students who ranked Malmö as #1 will receive an email with a
personal link to the scholarship application portal.
- Submit
Required Documents: You will likely be asked to answer questions about
your motivation or submit a CV/Statement of Purpose tailored to the
scholarship.
- Deadline:
You must submit this special application by May 10, 2026.
What Are They Looking For?
Selection is based on three main criteria:
- Academic
Excellence: Your previous grades (GPA) from your Bachelor's degree.
- Experience:
The strength of your CV (work experience, internships, research).
- Motivation:
Your ability to explain why you chose Malmö University and how you
will contribute to the program.
